WATCH: Rick Perry’s Texas Aggie Yell [Cartoon]

Editors’ note: Mother Jones illustrator Zina Saunders creates editorial animations riffing on the political news and current events of the week. In this week’s animation, new GOP contender Gov. Rick Perry sings to us of his college days, when he was an Aggie Yell Leader at Texas A&M. As always, that’s Saunders doing the voice. Here are six stories you must read about Rick Perry.

Read the yell’s transcript:

In Economics I got a D,
But that don’t mean a lil’ ol’ thing to me,
I know enough to fix our whole economy,
And kick the commie ass of Ben Bernanke!

In US History I got C,
But that don’t mean a lil’ ol’ thing to me,
Who cares about those facts and dates they try to teach,
When I can make ’em up to fit the things I preach!

In Chemistry I got an F and C,
But that don’t mean a lil’ ol’ thing to me,
Evolution’s just a bunch a heresy,
If they had taught creationism I woulda got a B!

My transcript’s got a lotta Cs and Ds,
But that don’t mean a lil’ ol’ thing to me,
Who needs a big ol’ brain in charge of our country,
Wouldn’t y’all rather have a good ol’ boy like me? Boy like me? Boy, oh boy, oh boy, like me?

And here’s Rick Perry’s actual college transcript:
