Our May/June story “Company Spies,” about U.S. intelligence agencies’ economic espionage against foreign corporations (in particular the Japanese auto industry), was written up in several of Japan’s biggest newspapers, including Mainichi Shinbun, above. Though it reached a combined readership of 14 million people, the story was ignored by the U.S. media.
